Connect the power of your vehicle's engine to the driveline with the Chevrolet Performance Cobalt Clutch Upgrade Kit. The clutch disc is the connecting link between the engine and transmission, providing a large surface area of friction material on both sides. The surface of the clutch disc contacts the flywheel surface of the engine and the pressure plate surface of the transmission. Rotation of the flywheel is transferred to the pressure plate through the clutch plate, allowing your vehicle to move. When the clutch pedal is engaged, the clutch plate is separated from the flywheel, allowing gears to be changed. When the clutch pedal is released, they make contact and the transfer of power begins again. This upgrade kit features an organic sprung disc and a diaphragm plate, and includes a release bearing and mounting hardware. It utilizes stronger components to create a package that will be less susceptible to clutch failure in 2005-2007 Cobalt SS/SC and 2004-2007 Ion Redline and is capable of 300 horsepower. It gives users better performance and more load capability due to increased surface area and extra clamping force.
