SB2.2 Bare - 12480011
Get the performance you need with the Chevrolet Performance Cylinder Head. Cylinder heads sit on top of the cylinder block to form the combustion chamber, and have ports for the fuel/air mixture and exhaust gases to travel through. The SB2.2 cylinder head is semi-finished, NASCAR-accepted, made of 355-T7 aluminum, and features .500-inch guide holes, as-cast 'peanut' ports, small, shallow and wedge shaped combustion chambers, precision T-washers installed in all four center head bolt bosses, valve spring pads that accommodate 1.625-inch diameter springs, modified valve angles, and revised location angled spark plugs. The head is designed for aftermarket shaft-mount rocker systems, and longer-than-stock 2.150-inch and 1.625-inch valves. There are no seats or guides installed, and specific left- and right-hand pistons are required. No matter what you're driving or what you're building, Chevrolet Performance has a wide range of engines, parts and other accessories to help you fulfill your project-vehicle dream.
- 'Mirror' design intake ports and angling of all eight ports toward the center of the engine make it ideal for single-four-barrel carburetor applications
- Spark plugs: 14mm, 5/8-inch hex, 3/4-inch reach, gasketed plugs
- 355-T7 X-rayed and 'hipped' aluminum competition cylinder heads (HIP is the acronym for Hot Isostatic Pressure, a process that increases material integrity, strength, and fatigue life)
- Spark plug holes moved toward the bore center for improved combustion efficiency
- 48cc as-cast combustion chambers permit the use of 12.1:1-compression-ratio flat-top pistons
- Extra-thick decks for heavy flat milling
- Extra material around ports for professional porting
- Designed to improve durability, simplify preparation procedures, and reduce the overall cost of building and maintaining a small-block Chevrolet racing engine
- NASCAR-accepted head
- Valve angles: 11-degree x 4-degree intake and 8-degree x 0-degree exhaust
